The Young Black Kings program is a mentoring based empowerment program for black male middle and high school students. It is an outreach program of the UGA Black Male Leadership Society. The program began in Fall of 2015. We currently work with 20 middle school students and 15 high school students in Athens-Clarke county. Our students currently attend Clarke Middle School and Clarke Central High School. Our mission is to support them and help to facilitate their success in school and beyond. We work to advance our mission through group mentoring sessions, group outings, guest speakers, and one-on-one connections with University students, particularly members of the Black Male Leadership Society. At the end of every academic year, we host an End of the Year Ceremony to congratulate the boys on their completion of the program for the academic year.
